Casting & Rehearsals

The Rehearsal Schedule

The rehearsal schedule for 8-18 year olds is designed to build confidence and cast camaraderie, with everyone fully involved in rehearsing songs, scenes and routines for the final production.

Our casting process ensures that everyone who enrols for the full Term will take part in a final performance at Hampton Hill Theatre.

Rehearsals are planned to lead up to the final performance. Weekly attendance is important for your child to feel fully confident on stage.

Weeks 1–2: Workshops & Auditions!

Our Musical Theatre team will help performers explore and learn the story, characters and songs in our workshop auditions.

Every child will be given their own official script. These are officially licenced books provided by the performing rights agent which help them to discover more about the characters, songs and stage direction.

Young performers are asked to list 3 parts they’d like to audition for and 1 part they definitely don’t want to play.

Week 3: Casting Announced!

Inclusive and inspiring, every child will play their part in the production, fully involved in scenes, songs and routines.

The Director will aim to cast the show giving each student the opportunity to grow and develop as a performer.

We start rehearsals with a BIG number so the whole cast are involved and working together from the start.

Week 3 to Showtime!

The cast will rehearse for 2.5 hours per week, plus two additional 3-hour weekend or evening rehearsals, including a costume fitting & first Dress rehearsal.

They’ll also take part in a full Technical & Dress rehearsal on stage at the theatre before their final performances.

Every child will shine in the performance with full sound, lighting, and sets at Hampton Hill Theatre.

Our award-winning shows are proudly attended by family, friends, and the local community.
