Dramatic Ideas for World Book Day

It’s that time of year again…dusty sewing kits come out, fancy dress aisles get rammed and stressed-out parents everywhere wonder how that year passed so quickly.  Yes, you guessed right, it’s World Book Day again!! Well, sit back and relax as Dramacube has it covered with some fantastically dramatic ideas for World Book Day in Hampton and Walton.

Be a Diamond in the Rough

Boy dressed for Aladdin

Dramacube is currently rehearsing Disney’s Aladdin Jr, based on a story by Antoine Galland. With wise-cracking Genies and street rats like Aladdin you’ll have rich-pickings for costume ideas. For children wanting to enter a whole new world you could even become royalty for the day and dress up like Princess Jasmine.

Work Your Magic!

Matilda

The genius of a brilliant book is that it never grows old and neither do the characters. Much like Roald Dahl’s cast in Matilda. This presents a much easier option for children as Miss Trunchball wears a tracksuit, Miss Honey a dress or Matilda, a school uniform- so fab ideas for the last-minute panic!

Believing in Yourself Never Goes Out of Style

Legally Blonde

Are you feeling a bit grown up and too cool for all this dressing up? Don’t worry because Elle Woods has all the answers for you.  Our older casts are currently rehearsing Legally Blonde Jr, so they know how much fun it is to play Elle Woods and her lively group of friends and beaus. So grab your preppy clothes and your largest sunglasses and away you go!

Be As Mad As a Hater

Mad Hatter outfits

This Easter, Dramacube are running Alice in Wonderland Workshops for 5-7 & 8-12yr olds. Lewis Carrol created a  cast of eccentric characters, with Mad-Hatters, white rushing rabbits and the red queens but don’t get lost down the rabbit hole when trying to choose who to be!

If you would like to be immersed in a wonderland of colourful characters please visit dramacube.co.uk.
